Welcome to another weekend for  Open Studios Latrobe.  My studio in Boolarra is Open from 10 - 4 on Saturday and Sunday. I'll be displaying  prints, gifts, ceramic pieces, wood work, jewellery and greeting cards.

I'm giving another showing of the prints I made for my Master of Fine Art. Previously shown at the Latrobe Regional Gallery in Dec 2015 to January this year. Meeniyan Art Gallery will host a slightly smaller selection of these unframed works.

ArtsSpace Wonthaggi, Victoria. Arts Print is a group exhibition of prints by Gippsland artists, curated by Susan Hall. Opening event Sunday 25 September 2-4pm.

Briagolong Art Gallery, Victoria. Image and Text is a group exhibition of prints curated by Judy Dorber exploring the diversity of printmakers incorporating text in their visual art practice.

I have a new print in the group exhibition Contemporary Paper, showing at Port Jackson Press, 84 Smith Street, Collingwood, Melbourne.

Suitable for students preparing a folio, beginners wanting an introduction to the world of printmaking, and a professional development experience for teachers. All levels are welcome.

A solo exhibition of intaglio and digital prints will be on display in Morwell from 21 November 2015.

I'm looking forward to facilitating Nature Printing workshops once Covid restrictions ease. The venue needs to have plenty of social spacing with at least one etching press and plenty of table space. I have a small portable press to add to the equipment that can be positioned on a bench.

I rescued this broken sign from a muddy drain near Churchill and flattened it out in order to put through the press like an etching plate.  See my page 'found metal' - tips for printers - needless to say the crucial pressure applied by the top roller is arrived at carefully and gradually.

Called Slow Sky this print from a metal road sign includes etching and aquatint for the blue chevron. One side of the metal plate says 'SLOW' the other 'STOP'. Its a very scratched and beaten-up sign that would has been used at road works - for a lengthy time.

Greeting Cards hand printed using Nature Printing with a variety of plants including grasses, ferns, weeds, seedlings, moss and lichens. Each one is individual!
